This hotel was extremely dirty. There were hairs all over the sheets, the floors and furniture were stained. The bathroom tile looked like it had not seen a scrub for years. The rooms were absolutely tiny. When you opened the front door, it hit the closet door behind it not allowing it to open fully. We ended up leaving this hotel in the middle of the night after a long day of travel to find a better and clean place to sleep. When we left the front desk clerk was sleeping in the lobby which really made us feel safe about who came and went out of the hotel.

No frills. Rooms are apparently going through much-needed rennovations. I stayed in what I guess was an old room, comfy, good bed, but nothing special. Near all three cable care lines, walkable to F Line, BART and MUNI. Few TV channels, computers for use in lobby at a fee. Good for the price and if you don't plan to stay in much.

My husband, daughter and I stayed at the Grant for a couple of nights. It's located in China Town and near Market St. Very central to everything. We took a taxi to Pier 39 for about $6. There's an abundance of public transportation: trolleys, bus, taxi, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful with a map and great directions. I would stay here again.
