I read the hotel was renovated, but obviously not the rooms we were. They smelled terribly, the TV was old and with no remote control. The person at the front desk was sardonic when I complained about the TV saying that all the remote controls were stolen and the TV were to be replaced??But there were rooms with decent TV in rooms probably not for tourist who will not come again. The noise from the street and the next rooms were terrible. Definitely the saving is not worth. I will recommend everyone looking for a decent hotel in SF to avoid this one.

The rooms are clean (altough to be honest we did find a jointure mold in the bathroom) and have recently been redecorated (contemporary style) ... flawless internet connectivity ... and parking (small spots) (remember this is as downtown as it gets) Location, location location but Van Ness is a busy main thru-road (101 extension) can get noisy at night. Bang for your buck if you like a slightly alternative downtown stay (ie. not at fishermans warf)

This room was surprising. Very clean and the most comfortable bed and pillows I have ever seen in a hotel. We will stay there again.
